Laser hair removal treatment is usually very short. It can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour depending on the target area. Before the procedure begins, your physician may apply an anesthetic cream to your skin, or recommend a mild pain reliever such as acetaminophen prior to the treatment to reduce any discomfort you may experience.

What is the recovery time for laser hair removal?

After the procedure has been completed, your skin may appear red or irritated. Luckily, this lasts only a day or so. It’s also extremely important to avoid the sun or use sunblock for a few weeks after the procedure and avoid any plucking or waxing of the treatment area.
